Ft. Loudoun State Historic Park

2. Visit Ft. Loudoun State Park in Vonore

Fort Loudoun State Historic Park is 1,200-acres and is one of the earliest British fortifications on the western frontier, built in 1756. The fort was reconstructed during the Great Depression and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1965. And conveniently located at this park is an area to dock your boat. Scattered along the lakeside are picnic takes and most with grills making this an excellent day trip by boat.

3. Jump off the silos into the lake in front of Tanasi Bar and Grill.

This one is not for the faint-hearted. The “cliffs” at Tellico Lake are actually old silos that stick out from out from when the valley was all farm land.

4. Take a scenic ride to the Chilhowee dam

Forming part of the boundary between the Great Smoky Mountains and the Cherokee National Forest is Chilhowee Lake, where much of Tellico Lakes cool, clean water comes from. The boat ride to the Chilhowee dam is a serene trip for fishermen and adventure seekers looking to escape the more crowded areas and see the beautiful East Tennessee landscape.

5. House shop by water!
