
Join the Lake Team January 1, 2023, at Tellico Lake in Loudon, Tennessee, for the Annual East Tennessee Polar Plunge to Raise Funds for Watershed Association. The Monroe County Tourism Department and Visit Loudon County will host the annual East Tennessee Polar Plunge to benefit the Watershed Association of the Tellico Reservoir. The non-profit, non-partisan Watershed Association of the Tellico Reservoir (WATeR) supports practices that promote clean air, water and natural habitat. Day of Registration from 11-11:30 a.m. at Tellico Lake: $35 Adults; $25 kids, 17 and under. Advance registration on or before December 31, 2022 saves $5.
Two tourism organizations are again teaming up to host a fundraiser with benefits for their local communities as well as their visitors. The Monroe County Tourism Department and Visit Loudon County will be hosting the annual East Tennessee Polar Plunge from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. on January 1, 2023, on Tellico Lake at the Poplar Springs Boat Ramp in Loudon, Tennessee. Proceeds from the event will go to the Watershed Association of the Tellico Reservoir to help in their efforts to protect the Tellico Reservoir.
The Watershed Association of the Tellico Reservoir (WATeR) supports policies and projects that protect and improve the environment in and around the Tellico Reservoir. The association is non-profit and non-partisan. The focus is on issues, policies, and practices that promote clean air, water, and natural habitat so that humans can live, work, and play in harmony with native plants and animals as well as with each other. The association strives to work cooperatively with governmental agencies and private organizations with similar goals and responsibilities for environmental protection and appropriate quality economic growth. Public education and demonstration projects are emphasized to make people aware of environmentally friendly practices that affect the watershed. WATeR strives to involve all stakeholders and to represent everyone interested in preserving and enhancing the environmental quality of the Tellico Reservoir Watershed.
